Pune Old City Heritage Walk
Did you know that one of the oldest surviving structures in the metropolis of Pune stands in the heart of what we now call Shivaji Nagar? Long before it acquired this modern identity, the area was known as Bhamburda or Bhambavde, a settlement that quietly witnessed the transformation of Pune from a prehistoric town into a thriving modern city.
On this walk, we explore Shivaji Nagar through the bustling bylanes of Jungli Maharaj Road and Ghole Road. Along the way, we will uncover fascinating stories hidden within the neighbourhood’s educational institutions, elegant Art Deco-style bungalows, and ancient temples that have shaped Pune’s cultural and social identity over generations.
The walk includes a fully guided walk with an English-speaking guide, entrance charges (wherever applicable) and some snacks & refreshments en route.
